Illinois Supreme Court Rules Laws Do Not Apply To Rahm Emanuel

rahmbo-thumb

The Illinois Supreme Court ruled in a 7 to 0 decision that Rahm Emanuel could continue to be a candidate for mayor of Chicago, even though the law clearly states a candidate MUST be reside in the state for one year prior to the election.

Corruption has never been quite so far out in the open as it is with this case. If the law is not in your favor and you’re Obama’s right hand man, simply appeal to the liberal Illinois Supreme Court, who will quickly make an exception for you. When the political class doesn’t like the rules, they just change them in the middle of the game. It is truly outrageous that we, as a society, allow this kind of thing to occur.

I think this video pretty much sums things up…

Rand Paul Proposes $500 Billion Cut In 12 Page Bill

rand-paul1

Under Senator Rand Paul’s leadership, we finally have a bold proposal on the table, one that cuts $500 billion from a bloated, wasteful and ineffective federal bureaucracy, without touching entitlement programs.

Proposals from the GOP establishment has been much weaker by comparison, proposing minor cuts in spending totaling less than $100 billion dollars and scaling back to the massive deficit spending of 2008.

Here is Senator Paul’s Bill.

Here is a detailed summary ofd the bill.

In the SOTU address, president Obama ridiculously called for more spending, going on to suggest freezing the budget at current levels, which includes an incredible $1.5 trillion dollars deficit per year. How utterly absurd!

It is NOW the time for our politicians to get serious about decreasing the size of government. Even with Senator Paul’s proposed cuts, the U.S. would still have a $1 Trillion dollar deficit next year. If the GOP establishment isn’t serious and refuses to support this modest bill, the electorate will need to send Senator Paul more help in 2012, lest the GOP be relegated to the “dustbin of history”.

Upstate South Carolina Braces For Major Winter Storm

scsnow2011-featured

The upstate of SC is bracing for what could be the largest winter storm since the blizzard of 1993, which dumped nearly a foot of snow on the upstate and piled up over two feet of snow in the mountains. At the time, the weather forecasters were only predicting 3-5 inches but they were sadly incorrect. Tens of thousands of SC residences lost their electrical power and I-85 became a snowy parking lot.

This storm has the potential of being just as bad, or worse, due to the fact that sleet and freezing rain will come into play. The current forecast is for 3″-6″ of snow starting around midnight on Sunday, then switching over to sleet and freezing rain in the afternoon on Monday. The big question is; when will the snow stop and the ice begin?

Either way, expect very dangerous driving conditions all across the upstate. With possible power outages, residents are advise to have emergency heating provisions, candles, flashlights and batteries on hand.

The national weather service’s official announcement is a follows:

A winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 am est Tuesday. Hazards…heavy snow overnight…mixed with sleet and freezing rain at times…Monday and Monday night.

Snowfall is expected develop from the southwest overnight. The snow may mix with or change to sleet late in the day on Monday…before gradually ending as a period of light freezing rain and freezing drizzle Monday night.

Accumulations…total snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches… with locally higher amounts over the higher elevations. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice may also accrue Monday night.

Temperatures…highs in the upper 20s with lows in the mid 20s during the winter storm. link

CNN Blames Right Wing Tea Party For Gabrielle Giffords Assassination Attempt

cnn1

CNN wasted no time in trotting out far left wing pundit David Fitzsimmons who promptly blamed the right for creating a political culture where “This kind of thing was inevitable”, he said. The Arizona Star opinion columnist went on to say, “The right in Arizona has been stoking the fires of heated anger and rage”.

To immediately put someone on the air suggesting that the right is responsible for this attack is the height of irresponsibility on the part of CNN, whether it’s true or not.

There was not a shred of evidence the shooter had ties to the right wing or the Tea Party movement but that didn’t matter to CNN. They have an agenda at CNN and they will never let a crisis go to waste without exploiting that crisis to push said agenda.

With this kind of irresponsible reporting, it’s no wonder the public has such disdain and mistrust of a biased and agenda driven media.
